Campus Computer Resources & Services


Technology on Edgewood campus is available for all uses, and all users. Please review the resources and services listed below for more information.  Contact the Technology Assistance Center at 608-663-6900 or via email technology-assistance@edgewood.edu with any questions related to technology on campus.

 

Student & Employee Purchases

Members of the Edgewood College community are eligible for discounts on both software and hardware. Although purchases are made directly from the vendor or third party vendor, your status as an Edgewood College Faculty, Staff or Student is required to obtain these discounts. You will need your username and password to access these websites. If you are a new student, or have forgotten your username and/or password, please contact the Technology Assistance Center at 608-663-6900, For more information on the purchasing program, please visit http://my.edgewood.edu/sites/services/itso/Shared%20Documents/purchasing.aspx.

Internet Connectivity

All residence hall rooms are wired for access to the campus Local Area Network (LAN) and a hard wire internet connection for each room resident is included in the room fee. Internet access is activated when students move in. Wireless access is not available in the residence halls but is available in the Regina Cafeteria, Predolin Commons and the Library. For a hard wire internet connection in your residence hall room, it is required that you have a 10/100/1000 ethernet adabpter card and current anti-virus software on your computer (anti-virus software will be provided for each room at move in.) Both will be required for the Technology Assistance Center to maintain your residence hall internet connection. For more information, please contact the Technology Assistance Center at 608-663-6900

Edgewood College does not provide internet service to students, faculty and staff living off-campus.

Wireless

Wireless network connections are available everywhere on campus. If your computer has a wireless network card, your computer will be able to automatically detect Edgewood College‚Äôs network. As a student/facutly/staff you will connect to "Edgewood-Internal". Enter your Edgewood College username and password.  As a guest, select "Edgewood-Guest" wireless network name.

Email

All members of the Edgewood Campus Community are granted an email account. Cable Television

 

Cable television hook up in rooms is available to the residents in Marshall, Regina, Stevie, Siena and Weber.  The cost is included in the room fees.  You must have a TV with a digital QAM tuner or a converter box that will tune a digital QAM signal. Most televisions manufactured since 2006 have a QAM tuner. If you need a QAM set-top box, they may be checke out each semester via Technology Assistance Center.

 

General-Use Computer Labs

The Oscar Rennebohm Library provides service to the students, faculty, and staff of Edgewood College. Besides housing regular library materials, it also contains the Information Commons with 65  general use computers, scanners, black/white and color copiers and printing.  For information on all of the Library's services, visit their homepage at at http://library.edgewood.edu.

Student Use Computers

General student-use computers can be found in each of the residence halls, in the Predolin second floor hallway, in DeRicci at the Cyber Atrium near the bookstore and second floor hallway, Dominican academic hallway, and in the Library Information Commons. For information on the available software on the general use computers, please contact the Technology Assistance Center.

Equipment Checkout

Edgewood offers equipment available for check out, for both Students and Employees, on a first-come-first serve basis. Equipment may be checked out for a period of 3 days. Failure to return equipment will result in a fine of $2 per day late.

Multimedia Presentation Classrooms

Multimedia presentation classrooms are available throughout campus. Each classroom is fitted with an instructor computer, flat panel monitor, LCD Computer projector with screen, VizCam (multimedia display station), and DVD/VCR combo. Some rooms on campus are Technology Classrooms (classroom with multiple computers). Classrooms are available for classes and special events only.
